A Feast of Christ falling 40 days after the birth of Christ, the Purification of Mary and The Presentation of Our Lord puts forth a rich Word of Gospel of peace for faithful and devout believers who, like Simeon of old, long for the coming of Jesus. As Mary and Jesus came for purification, Jesus was already beginning to fulfill the Law on our behalf. And even more, He was beginning to fill the temple, which had been without the presence of the Lord since its building.
